18K GOLD FILLED

18k gold filled jewelry is considered the very best in jewelry finishes apart from solid gold. Gold filled jewelry has 100x more gold than plated or vermeil jewelry and it is required by law that the gold layer make up at least 5% of the total weight of the piece. (Gold plated is only .05%)

The manufacturing process for gold filled jewelry is very unique. A solid layer of 18k gold is bonded with heat and pressure to the base metal. During the heating and flattening process, the metals are fused together, but the thick layer of solid gold remains on the outside.

Because the outer layer of gold is so thick, gold filled pieces typically lasts for decades with the proper care.

Our 18k gold filled jewelry is waterproof, sweat proof, tarnish resistant, and hypoallergenic.

.925 STERLING SILVER

Sterling silver is an alloy (or mixture) of silver consisting of 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metals. Silver sterling is identified by the number 925 (often stamped onto jewelry items). Silver, which is 99.9% pure silver or fine silver, is too soft and unsuitable for manufacturing jewelry. It is therefore alloyed with other metals to give it strength.
Rhodium is a hard durable precious metal of the platinum family. Rhodium plating (electroplating) is usually done to prevent scratching or tarnishing, protect the underlying metal, give the jewelry a white and shiny appearance and make it durable.
